ABOUT ME

Kimberly Melville is an Australian female director and writer who has a love of stories that are fun, vibrant and sometimes a bit spooky. She is very driven to female-led stories that resonate with both young adults and children.
She has directed an impressive slate of iconic Australian children's shows and brands, such as GIGGLE AND HOOT (ABC), logie-nominated GARDENING AUSTRALIA JUNIOR (ABC), logie-nominated PLAY SCHOOL (ABC) and SPA-nominated FIZZY AND SUDS (ABC/Tilt Media and Entertainment).
Kimberly has a MA in Directing from Bournemouth University (UK) and during her time studying abroad, her short documentary SAINTS AND SINNERS was selected by the BBC as part of their BBC3 Fresh Initiative and aired on the channel.

From 2016-2017, she was a social media creator for DC COMICS and regularly reviewed comics for their Youtube channel to over 4+ million subscribers.
Oh, and there was also that time her cat went viral on TIKTOK during Covid.
A number of her short films have screened internationally, such as her horror comedy short PEER which won 2nd place at the International Horror Hotel film festival and has been selected to play at several international horror film festivals. Another of her horror comedy shorts COUNCIL CLEANUP won the Audience Choice Award at the Sydney Underground Film Festival and was written, shot and edited in 48 hours as part of the TAKE48 competition.
In her spare time she enjoys playing video games, counting down the days til Halloween, discussing psychology, punching and kicking things in martial arts, sharing cat videos, advocating for animal rights and dreaming about space travel.
Kimberly is a proud member of the Australian Director's Guild, Australian Writer's Guild and Women in Film and Television (WIFT).
