About me
Kimberly Melville is an award-winning Australian female director, writer and creative producer who has a love of stories that are fun, vibrant, sometimes a bit spooky and just plain weird.
She started in the industry in children's television and has directed, written and produced on some of the most iconic children's shows in Australia such as Giggle and Hoot (ABC), Gardening Australia Junior (ABC), Play School (ABC) and Reef School (ABC).
But her true passion lies in darker stories that really twist your mind.
Her horror comedy short film 'Council Cleanup' won the Audience Choice Award at Sydney Underground Film Festival in 2019 and was made in 48 hours as part of the TAKE48 competition.
During her time studying a MA in Directing at Bournemouth University, her short documentary film 'Saints and Sinners' was selected by the BBC as part of their BBC3 Fresh Initiative and aired on the channel.
In 2013, her first web series 'The Gauntlet' won 3 awards at LA WEBFEST, including best young adult fantasy series, and was nominated for over 10 awards at the Brisbane Webstream awards.
